Overview

Role Purpose:

Court Runners will process requests in a professional and timely manner, adhering to guidelines from their Supervisors on the required productivity and quality of work.

 

This is a Hybrid position - part of the work will be performed at the a District Court House in MA. District Court Location choice could be: Ayer, Cambridge, Concord, Framingham, Malden, Marlborough, Newton. Some work thereafter may be partially performed from home.

  • The Court Runner will travel to courthouses to conduct research onsite to provide criminal or civil case information for the purpose of a Candidate’s background check
  • Court Runners will use various criminal and civil court computer indexes, as well as engaging with court clerk staff when necessary to provide complete and accurate case information
  • Court Runners will verify information provided by Candidates and will input case information into the HireRight WebCourt portal

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that duties are carried out professionally and in line with the priority to Help Candidates Get Hired
  • Quickly and effectively research and verify information provided by Candidates to ensure the screening process is completed in a timely manner
  • Retrieves case information from indexes on computer or paper files
  • Effectively communicates with court clerk staff to obtain necessary information to ensure court records reported are complete and accurate
  • Provides status updates and ETAs for completion of requests
  • Able to prioritize escalated client requests
  • Ensure accurate and prompt turnaround on all reports
  • Provide timely follow-up and follow through on all requests, reports, and escalations
  • Pro-actively keep Supervisor informed of any issues regarding access to court systems, records, or  staff used to conduct research
  • Maintain a "Continuous Improvement" state of mind and helps to suggest and implement changes
  • Ensure all actions comply with all applicable Data Protection legislations
  • Assist team members and works as part of the team to ensure customers’ expectations are met
  • Must have reliable transportation, and be able to travel to assigned court locations daily
  • Must maintain clean driving record, and have valid driver’s license
  • May assist with mentoring, training, and coaching of new team members within immediate team
  • May assist in ad hoc projects as and when required

Qualifications

Education:

  • Associate or Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice or related field or applicable working experience in a related field preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED required

Preferred Experience:

  • 2 years of experience conducting criminal or civil records research, or previous work in a court setting preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, but very structured and fact-driven environment/team
  • Knowledge of word processing software (MS Word/Outlook)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Knowledge within the background screening industry (familiarity with reading court cases, terminology, court record filing, etc.)
  • Problem solving and troubleshooting

The annual salary range for this position is $37,440.00 - $45,760.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
