Overview

HireRight seeks an innovative and strategic VP of Enterprise Strategy & PMO to drive alignment and delivery for critical initiatives across the enterprise. This role will support the Chief Transformation Officer’s objectives to create substantial value creation, accelerate above market growth, and enhance profitability by ensuring a cohesive and highly efficient operating model. The VP will play an essential role in shaping strategic execution, building out key functions, and leading high-impact projects that align with transformational goals. Reporting directly to the Chief Transformation Officer, the VP will collaborate with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to develop integrated strategies, optimize business processes, ensure goal delivery and champion value creation through innovation.

Responsibilities

Strategic Plan Definition & Execution

  • Collaborate with the Chief Transformation Officer to define and refine the company’s strategic plan, translating high-level goals into actionable and measurable objectives.
  • Develop and manage an enterprise-wide roadmap, prioritizing initiatives that drive profitability, operational leverage, and value creation in alignment with HireRight’s strategic objectives.
  • Oversee project lifecycles, ensuring initiatives are delivered on time, within budget, and with measurable impact.

Program & Project Management Office (PMO)

  • Establish a high-performing PMO to drive project prioritization, resource management, and risk mitigation across cross-functional initiatives.
  • Develop standardized methodologies and metrics for project success, supporting both innovation and operational goals.
  • Provide visibility into project performance, working with leaders to resolve barriers, optimize resources, and ensure outcomes align with enterprise objectives.

Cross-Functional Alignment & Cohesive Operating Model

  • Lead efforts to create a cohesive operating model by facilitating collaboration across Sales, Product, Finance, Operations, and Technology teams.
  • Drive integration of strategic processes and align metrics across functions to enable a “one source of truth” approach for data, reporting, and performance management.
  • Support senior Sales, Product and Customer teams to optimize global strategy and vertical focus, ensuring a unified approach to growth opportunities, pricing optimization, customer support, and market development.

Framing Analytics & Key Processes

  • Partner with Data, Finance, and Operations teams to enhance data-driven insights and analytics frameworks, supporting decision-making and alignment across functions.
  • Establish and refine KPIs to track strategic progress, monitor performance, and adapt initiatives in real time.
  • Lead initiatives to eliminate single points of failure in the operating model and explore innovative solutions to enhance resilience and value.

Transformation & Innovation Initiatives

  • Champion transformation initiatives, facilitating agile and efficient change to support both core and incubative business ventures.
  • Work with the Chief Transformation Officer and other senior leaders to identify opportunities for growth within new market segments, new product launches, AI/ML deployment, and enhanced global presence.
  • Manage the planning, launch, and scaling of innovative projects, ensuring successful cross-functional collaboration and operational alignment.

Business Development & Operational Support

  • Collaborate with Business Development teams to evaluate new partnerships, acquisition opportunities, and investments, fostering an environment of sustainable growth.
  • Support initiatives to develop new lines of business, accelerate global growth, and optimize partnership opportunities for commercial success.
  • Assist with building foundational capabilities that support HireRight’s long-term success.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead and mentor a diverse, small but mighty team of project managers, analysts, and / or strategic planners, cultivating a high-performance culture that values collaboration and accountability.
  • Drive alignment and foster communication across departments to ensure buy-in and clear visibility on key initiatives.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the executive team on enterprise planning, prioritization, and the strategic execution roadmap.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance or a related field; MBA or relevant graduate degree strongly preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise planning / strategy and PMO / PMI leadership, or strategic program management roles, preferably in a technology or high-growth environment.
  • Prior experience with Big Three consulting firms (McKinsey, BCG, or Bain) highly preferred, demonstrating strong strategic problem-solving and execution capabilities.
  • Technology industry experience is strongly preferred, particularly with exposure to SaaS, AI/ML, or digital transformation initiatives.
  • Proven track record in building and scaling a Center of Excellence (COE), driving enterprise-wide standardization, innovation, and capability building.
  • Demonstrated success in building and leading a PMO, ensuring project standardization, consistency, and accountability across the organization. Previous experience in leading PMI work is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and project management skills, with experience in framing insights, developing metrics, and implementing data-driven decision-making processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-functional projects that align with strategic goals and deliver measurable impact.
  • Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills, with a focus on driving organizational alignment and execution.
