Overview

This position reports to and works closely with the CFO to develop the appropriate data and conduct the analysis that the business leaders can use to continue to drive the business forward. The Director will play a key role in identifying and putting in place the essential business decision models.

Responsibilities

  • Lead external (e.g. marketplace, competitor, technology, customer) & internal (technology, product, business unit) strategic assessments.
  • Evaluate impact of external trends and recommend action plans.
  • Work with FP&A to develop the annual business plan and facilitate the development of Vertical-Enterprise sector and strategic plans with vertical leaders, sales and customer solutions functions
  • Report on performance of key strategies (e.g. dashboards, KPIs, etc.).
  • Provide leadership in analyzing market, customer, product, competitive, technology and regulatory trends and make recommendations on strategic options in coordination with Sales and Customer Solutions teams.
  • Interact extensively with marketing and product team during strategy setting, identifying ROI, costs, pricing required to be competitive, product development plan and timeline, etc.
  • Identify, lead and manage strategic assessments based on external trends and based on internal analysis of the Company's products, services and business units, assist business leaders set strategy.
  • Track a lot of external statistics and how to use that data in pricing, product, etc.
  • Lead the cross-functional creation of the company-wide 3-year strategic plan which would include perspectives on potential future scenarios, market positioning, gaps, opportunities and priorities following the consolidation curve framework—drive to a solution on a deal or where there are issues to be solved.
  • Actively identify and utilize frameworks and tools to enhance the efficacy of the planning process.
  • Oversee and manage the continued development and improvement of budgeting, financial forecasting processes, and modeling tools.
  • Oversee the financial and strategic activities at the Operations level and advise the Sr Dir Finance for Operations and staff in all areas of business performance and administration
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis to understand and manage the business. Identify and/or implement initiatives in areas of margin improvement, compliance, and system and tool enhancements.
  • Manage department workflow including prioritizing, scheduling and assigningtasks to staff and fostering a team environment through the communication of departmental and individual performance objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Finance or Accounting, Masters preferred
  • Minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience in finance, with experience identifying critical data required to support business decisions, doing as well as leading data analysis, and working cross-functionally to institutionalize and lead the use of data to drive a business forward.
  • Strong background/experience in competitive analysis and working crossfunctionally to design business plans to compete effectively.
  • Oversee and manage the continued development and improvement of budgeting, financial forecasting processes, and modeling tools.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP and SAP PBC helpful.
