Overview

The Senior Compliance Director will be responsible for assisting the Vice President and Deputy General Counsel for Compliance in handling HireRight’s compliance affairs and supporting a variety of teams across the business. In particular, the position will work directly and independently with product managers to assure that new products and changes to existing products improve our compliance posture.

Responsibilities

The position requires your individual contribution, your leadership by example and consensus-building, and your direction of teams as needed to accomplish the following:

  • Assist in the design of products or product extensions to assure that they comply with law applicable to us
  • Assist in the design of products or product extensions to assure that they allow our customers to comply with law applicable to our customers
  • Assist in the design of products or product extensions to assure that they comply with data-source contracts applicable to the product
  • In connection with product design and in other instances:
    • Assist our contracts office on customer and vendor contracts with compliance implications
    • Build training on compliance-related subjects
    • Create compliance content for our customers
    • Design compliance assessments for transition to our compliance audit team
    • Document processes in policies and procedures
    • Complete privacy and compliance assessments
    • Assess risk control jointly with our operating groups
    • Design new compliance assessments
    • Document processes in policies and procedures
    • Execute projects to mitigate identified compliance weaknesses
  • Report on these activities
  • Other duties as assigned by the Chef Compliance Officer or Deputy General Counsel for Compliance

Qualifications

  • A candidate should have the following experience:
    • At least 12 years of management experience
    • At least 12 years of experience with compliance, privacy, audit, quality assurance, or similar disciplines
    • At least 12 years of experience working in the US background screening industry
    • Working familiarity with international privacy approaches, including Canadian privacy laws and the European Union’s GDPR
    • Some college, a professional certification, or additional work experience
    • A high school diploma or an equivalent showing of basic skills
  • A candidate should be:
    • Curious

    • Clear in written and oral communications
    • Competent in the use of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Excel
