We are seeking an experienced Hypervisor Engineer with deep expertise across VMware, Nutanix, and Red Hat OpenShift to architect, manage, and optimize our enterprise virtualization platforms. This hybrid role (onsite in Nashville several days per week) is ideal for a senior engineer who thrives in complex environments and has a proven track record of delivering highly available, scalable, and secure infrastructure solutions.

Virtualization & Hypervisor Engineering

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-grade virtualization environments using VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, NSX, vSAN, SRM, and related tools.
• Lead lifecycle management, patching, upgrades, and performance tuning across all VMware platforms.
• Engineer and support Nutanix HCI solutions including AHV, Prism, storage, DR, and cluster optimization.
• Integrate and support OpenShift clusters within virtualized and hybrid cloud environments.

Infrastructure Architecture & Operations

• Develop scalable, resilient hypervisor architectures aligned with security and compliance standards.
• Troubleshoot complex virtualization, storage, and networking issues across multi‑vendor environments.
• Automate operational tasks using scripting (PowerCLI, Python, Bash, Ansible).
• Collaborate with cloud, network, DevOps, and security teams to support enterprise workloads.

Performance, Monitoring & Optimization

• Implement monitoring, alerting, and capacity planning for hypervisor and HCI platforms.
• Conduct root-cause analysis and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on experience with VMware virtualization technologies (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, NSX, vSAN, SRM).
• Strong experience with Nutanix HCI architecture, deployment, and operations.
• Experience deploying and supporting OpenShift in enterprise environments.
• Deep understanding of compute, storage, networking, and security concepts.
• Proficiency with automation tools (PowerCLI, Ansible, Terraform, or similar).
• Strong troubleshooting skills and experience in large-scale, mission-critical environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

• VMware certifications (VCP, VCAP, or higher).
• Nutanix certifications (NCP, NCAP).
• Red Hat certifications (RHCSA, OpenShift certs).
• Experience with hybrid cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and container orchestration.
